The Bar Association Issues a Statement Regarding Ruben Hakobyan's Arrest

The Bar Association of Armenia has announced that the arrest of attorney Ruben Hakobyan is under its close scrutiny. The Bar Association states, "The Association is in direct contact with Ruben Hakobyan's defense team. Discussions are underway regarding the framework of actions directed at defending the attorney and future steps." According to Article 7, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Law on Advocacy, the responsibilities of the Bar Association include protecting the rights and legal interests of its members in relations with state and local self-government bodies and organizations, as well as in court."
