Azerbaijan Declares Level One Readiness: Aliyev's Statement

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has announced that Iran has carried out a "terrorist act" against Azerbaijan. He made this statement during a meeting of the country's Security Council.

According to him, following the strikes from Iranian drones, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have been given appropriate instructions to prepare retaliatory actions. Aliyev noted that, in light of the current situation, Tehran must provide an official explanation to Baku and apologize for the incident.

Aliyev claimed that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, including the Ministry of Defense, the State Border Service, and all other special units, have been put on a level one combat readiness status and must be prepared to carry out any operations.

The Azerbaijani president also mentioned that this is not the first incident. He recalled that some time ago, the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was attacked.

According to Aliyev, that attack was carried out by an individual who, he claimed, acted on the instructions of Iranian special services, resulting in the deaths of Azerbaijani citizens.
