Israel to Target Any New Iranian Leader for Elimination: Prime Minister
Israel may consider any new leader of Iran as a "target for elimination without reservation." This was stated by Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz on the social network X. According to the Minister, if Iranian authorities appoint a new leader who continues with the agenda of actions against Israel, threatens the United States, regional countries, and the "free world," and represses Iranian society, he would become a direct target of Israeli actions.
Katz also mentioned that Israel will continue to work together with the United States to limit the capabilities of the current Iranian regime and to create conditions for a transition of power in Iran that reflects the will of the Iranian people.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who has led the country since 1989, was killed on February 28 due to strikes from Israel and the U.S. According to The New York Times, the possible next candidate could be his son, Mojtaba Khamenei. It was previously reported that the Experts' Council, responsible for selecting Iran's new leader, has already designated him for the position.
