‘Merdzov’ or Gagik Tsarukyan Will Compete for the Opposition Force, Says Alen Simonyan

I believe that ‘Merdzov’ or Gagik Tsarukyan will compete for the first opposition force, as they both have attracted votes from the ‘Armenia’ bloc’s electorate. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a press briefing.

“I am confident that 2-3 opposition forces can cross the electoral threshold, of which two are either clearly not crossing or will struggle to do so. Robert Kocharian has other concerns, namely whether he will cross the threshold in the next parliamentary elections or if his entire opposition resource will be taken by other parties. According to my data, he has that problem; in 2021, 21 percent voted for Robert Kocharian and the ‘Armenia’ bloc, but it is evident that in the upcoming elections, that 21 percent will not vote for Kocharian and will cast their votes for another opposition party,” said Alen Simonyan.
