Israeli Defense Forces Conduct Active Operations in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they are conducting active operations in southern Lebanon alongside actions against Iran. According to an IDF statement, the military has established positions in several areas near the border to reinforce front-line defense.

The army also reported targeted strikes against Hezbollah's infrastructure, indicating that these actions are aimed at neutralizing threats and preventing attempts to penetrate Israeli territory.

Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that together with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, they have granted permission for military forces to carry out advancements and occupy additional strategically significant areas within Lebanon to prevent shelling of nearby Israeli settlements.

Reuters reminds that in 2024, following a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, Israel maintained its presence of ground troops at five strategic points in Lebanon.
