How the US and Israel Discovered Khamenei's Location
The assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei did not occur at midnight, as one might assume, but in the morning, according to BBC reports.
This happened after the US and Israel decided to utilize critical intelligence gathered just hours prior. For months, they awaited the right moment for high-ranking Iranian officials to convene and concluded that Khamenei would be at a construction complex in central Tehran on Saturday morning.
They were also informed about the whereabouts of other senior Iranian military officials and intelligence representatives who were holding meetings at the same time.
For several months, the US and Israel tracked the movements of the Supreme Leader. The specific methods employed remain classified, although former US President Donald Trump hinted at this on social media.
“He could not escape our intelligence and high-tech surveillance systems,” Trump stated.
The information about Khamenei's location may have been obtained through a ground agent, but it is more likely that the Ayatollah was identified through modern technologies by monitoring the movements of other Iranian figures.
