US Embassy Staff Directed to Urgently Leave Israel
The U.S. State Department has authorized its personnel in Israel who are not engaged in emergency functions, along with their family members, to leave the country due to security concerns. This information was released by the U.S. Embassy in Israel.
In a statement, the diplomatic mission noted that these individuals should consider the option of leaving the country while commercial flights are still operational. It was also emphasized that in the event of security incidents, the embassy may impose additional restrictions or completely halt the movement of U.S. officials and their family members in certain areas of Israel, including the Old City of Jerusalem and the West Bank.
According to American media reports, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Hockabee has sent an email to staff urging them to depart as soon as possible if they wish to do so. He stated that the top priority is to leave the country quickly, possibly continuing their journey to Washington if necessary.
