How Much Will Election Expenses Amount to: CEC Approves Budget Estimate
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has established the sample forms of documents required for the registration of electoral lists of parties and party alliances participating in the National Assembly elections during an extraordinary meeting on February 24. The decision has been aligned with the Electoral Code of the constitutional law, which states that in the case of regular parliamentary elections, the party/alliance must approve the first thirty candidates of the electoral list through a decision adopted at a congress. This information has been reported by the CEC.
“The CEC's digital tools have been adapted to stipulate the rules for the registration of parties or party alliances on the CEC's official website for the purpose of obtaining accounts to participate in elections,” states decision number 3-A.
The commission has set the forms for the certificates of candidates, authorized representatives, trusted persons, observers, visitors, translators, members of electoral district and polling station commissions, specialists, support center specialists, deputies, community leaders, council members, and representatives of the Central Electoral Commission.
The CEC has also established a budget estimate related to the preparation for and conduct of the regular elections of the National Assembly scheduled for June 7, 2026, amounting to 4 billion 451 million 688 thousand drams, of which 1 billion 800 million 296 thousand drams will cover the salaries of members of polling station electoral commissions,” the statement reads.
