Serious Incident at the Olympic Games

A Polish speed skater was injured during the quarter-finals of the 1500-meter race at the 2026 Olympic Games, leading to a temporary halt in the competition, reports sport-express.ru.

During a turn, the 25-year-old athlete was struck in the lower eye area by the blade of an American competitor's skate, causing her to fall unconscious. As a result, heavy bleeding was reported.

Following medical assistance, the athlete was carried out of the rink on a stretcher. The American competitor was disqualified from the event.
