12 Individuals Facing Prosecution in Ajapnyak Shooting Case

The Investigative Committee has reported that public criminal prosecution has been initiated against 12 individuals involved in the murder and attempted murder case that occurred in Ajapnyak.

On February 18, 2026, a murder was committed using a firearm on Abelyan Street in the Ajapnyak administrative district of Yerevan. Following extensive investigative and procedural actions carried out by a large team of investigators from the Yerevan Investigative Division of the Investigative Committee, as well as operational and investigative measures undertaken by police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, several circumstances of the incident have been clarified, including the main circle of individuals involved.

Specifically, the preliminary investigation has established that one individual was murdered in a manner dangerous to the lives of others using a firearm, as well as the identity of a person who attempted to murder seven others in the same manner. Public criminal prosecution has been initiated against this individual based on Articles 155 (part 2, points 7 and 8), 44-155 (part 2, points 7 and 8; 7 episodes), 297 (part 3), and 335 (part 1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

Additionally, a number of individuals involved in the armed incident have been identified as a result of the comprehensive investigative and procedural actions. Public criminal prosecution has also been initiated against 11 more individuals.

Simultaneous searches have been conducted at over 40 addresses in Yerevan, yielding items of significance for the investigation. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, and all necessary measures are being taken to establish the complete circle of individuals involved in the case and to assess their actions from a criminal-legal standpoint.
