Zelensky Imposes Sanctions Against Lukashenko

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced sanctions against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, accusing him of supporting Russia in its war against Ukraine. Zelensky stated that Lukashenko has long been "exchanging the sovereignty of his country for his own power" and is aiding Russia in circumventing international sanctions. He also noted that Minsk justifies Moscow's actions.

The Ukrainian president added that Belarus is increasing its involvement in the war, which, in his words, could lead to "specific consequences." Earlier, several media outlets reported that Ukrainian authorities are discussing the possibility of initiating a criminal case against Lukashenko with representatives of the Belarusian opposition. According to publications, this move could influence his isolation on the international stage.
