Very Bad Days Await Iran: Tehran Should Not Have Nuclear Weapons, Says U.S. Ambassador to NATO
The U.S. President Donald Trump is ready to give Iran the chance to resolve issues through diplomatic means; however, if alternatives arise, Tehran may face serious consequences. This statement was made by the U.S. permanent representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, against the backdrop of upcoming negotiations in Geneva.
According to him, the White House is prepared to offer a "real opportunity" for a peaceful resolution, but Washington's stance remains unchanged: Iran should not possess nuclear weapons or the capacity to develop them. Whitaker emphasized that the president has repeatedly stated this position.
The diplomat also noted that the threat of military action remains as long as U.S. armed forces are present in the Middle East. He emphasized that final decisions are made by the president, with priority still on seeking a peaceful solution to the issue. However, as Whitaker pointed out, if diplomatic efforts do not yield results, "very bad days await Iran."
