Russophobia Manifestations: We Can Provide a Link to the 'Ivan Susanin' Opera as Compensation, Says Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on reports regarding Poland's possible compensation claims.
“We can provide a link to the ‘Ivan Susanin’ opera as compensation,” she stated.
The Financial Times reported that Warsaw intends to file a claim against Moscow, demanding compensation for the “consequences of Soviet hegemony.” Several Polish politicians have previously advocated for financial claims against Russia. Former President Andrzej Duda supported the idea, and officials in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated they would assess the losses incurred during World War II and would demand compensation for them.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Poland is attempting to link domestic issues with historical themes, while the Kremlin has characterized Warsaw's statements as manifestations of Russophobia.
