Russian Actions Complicate Situation, Says Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that intelligence data indicates preparations for new strikes against energy facilities by Russia. According to him, such actions complicate the possibility of reaching an agreement on ending the nearly four-year-long war.

This was reported by Reuters.

In his evening video address, Zelensky emphasized the need to ensure the full readiness of air defense systems. He highlighted that Russian attacks are constantly evolving and are conducted using a combination of various means, including drones and missiles, which necessitates additional defensive support from partners, particularly from the United States.

Today, the third round of negotiations mediated by the U.S. is scheduled to take place in Geneva, involving Ukrainian, Russian, and American delegations. For the first time, the discussions will focus on the issue of Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.

Rustem Umerov, head of the Ukrainian delegation, has stated that his team is already in Geneva and is ready to discuss security and humanitarian issues.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed journalists that the Russian side intends to discuss a broad range of issues, including territorial claims. The Russian delegation will be led by Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to President Vladimir Putin, and will also include military intelligence chief Igor Kostyukov and the president's special representative Kiril Dmitriev.
