India Purchases Nearly 300 Russian Missiles
The Defense Acquisition Council of India has approved the purchase of 288 missiles for the S-400 Triumph missile system from Russia, valued at $1.2 billion, according to Hindustan Times.
As part of the deal, New Delhi will receive 120 short-range and 168 long-range missiles. Additionally, the Indian Air Force plans to acquire five more batteries of the S-400 Triumph ground-to-air missile systems, which will create strategically important defensive zones, the publication notes.
India is also focusing on the protection of critical infrastructure and military airbases. In this context, the country's authorities are planning to acquire Pantsir short-range air defense missile and gun systems.
