The Conference Has Turned into a 'Munich Circus': European Officials are Confused, Says Araqchi

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated on Saturday that the Munich Security Conference held in Germany has turned into a 'Munich Circus' when it comes to discussions about Iran. The international security conference is taking place in Munich. The Iranian delegation was not allowed to participate in the conference, despite the presence of the son of the ousted Iranian Shah Reza Pahlavi, who has called for unrest in Iran.

'It is regrettable that what is usually a serious security conference held in Munich is turning into a Munich Circus when the topic of Iran is discussed,' Araqchi wrote on his X social media page. He noted that European officials are currently in a state of confusion due to their inability to understand the events happening in Iran.

'Strategically, the aimless European Union has lost all its geopolitical weight in the Middle East. In particular, Germany has taken a leading role in fully surrendering its regional policymaking to Israel. The overall direction of Europe’s development is, to put it mildly, in a dire state and raises concerns,' Araqchi said.
