Trump Again Threatens Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that U.S. naval forces in the Middle East will need a second aircraft carrier strike group if the agreement with Tehran fails.
"If we do not reach an agreement with Iran, we will need that second aircraft carrier strike group. If we come to an agreement, it will quickly return to its course," Trump told reporters in front of the White House.
Trump also stated that he expects the negotiations to be successful but warned that if an agreement with Iran is not reached, Tehran will face serious consequences, and that day will be a "very bad day" for the country.
Earlier, the New York Times reported that the USS Gerald R. Ford, stationed in the Caribbean, along with accompanying ships, would be deployed to the Middle East.
On Thursday, Trump announced that if Iran refuses to reach an agreement, Washington will move to a "second phase," which will be "very difficult" for Tehran.
