There Are Circles in Russia Who Benefit from Armenia's Conflict with Turkey and Azerbaijan: Pashinyan

“Unfortunately, there are certain circles in Russia who believe that peace between Armenia and Turkey and Azerbaijan is not in their interest, because in that case, Armenia would become a fully independent state. If there is enmity, Armenia will have to cling more and more tightly to Russia,” the Prime Minister commented on such viewpoints coming from Russia, questioning: “We live in this region and have four neighbors; who is the effective leader who wants good relations and peace with these four countries, and who wants to incite conflicts?”

Nikol Pashinyan noted that the idea of creating some contradictions to provoke Armenia against neighboring countries and to increase dependence is not shared by many in Russia, including his counterparts Vladimir Putin and Mikhail Mishustin, who consider peace beneficial for Armenia, Russia, and the countries in the region.

“Look at what they are saying today, what theses exist. They say we are in favor of peace, but we are not in favor of 29,743 square kilometers. This is an absurd statement because if you are not in favor of 29,743 square kilometers, it means that you are declaring war either postponed or directly tomorrow. Unquestionably and without doubt,” he emphasized.
