The Mistake Must Be Rectified: Pashinyan on Cases of Exemption from Mandatory Military Service
We have reviewed and are reviewing the list of diseases that are incompatible with military service. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a conversation with reporters.
“Moreover, I would like to say that when I recently visited the 'Soldier's House,' one of the beneficiaries, a former officer who is now disabled, said that he believes he can serve in the army. I agreed and told him that, yes, I also think you can serve in the army. Two days ago, we were discussing in the Ministry of Defense, because technology is changing so much now that even a person with a disability can go through military service, for example, can he be a drone operator? He can. And so forth,” he said.
Pashinyan emphasized that any case of exemption from mandatory military service that has occurred illegally will be in the spotlight. “This issue is under our attention, and if, again, I say, something has gone wrong, that does not mean that this mistake should not be rectified. On the contrary, that mistake must be corrected,” he noted.
