National Assembly Approves Amendments to Military Service Law in Second Reading
The National Assembly voted on February 11 to fully adopt a number of bills and agreements in the first and second readings. Among the bills accepted in the first reading was a draft proposing changes to Article 380.1 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia, which stipulates that when citizens make payments for medical services via a terminal, they will automatically receive an electronic cash register receipt. This receipt will also be reflected in the ArMed system, meaning that the relevant registration code will appear in the cash register as well.
Also accepted in the first reading was a package of bills regarding 'Missing Persons in Conditions and Circumstances Created by Military Operations'. According to the main reporter of the bill, Minister of Justice Suren Galstyan, it is necessary to adopt a separate framework law to ensure comprehensive regulation of the legal relationships concerning missing persons in conditions and circumstances created by military operations.
Among the bills adopted in the second reading was the one authored by deputy Hayk Sargsyan from the 'Civil Contract' faction, which amends the law on 'Military Service and the Status of Military Servants'. According to this bill, citizens aged 27-37 can be exempt from criminal liability by voluntarily returning to the Republic of Armenia and choosing one of the five proposed options.
