EU to Suspend Visa-Free Regime for Georgian Diplomatic Passport Holders
Most EU member states have voted in favor of suspending the visa-free regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports. According to APA news agency, this was reported by Rikard Jozvyak, the European Bureau Chief of Radio Free Europe on his X page.
According to his information, 25 countries voted in favor of the decision, while 2 countries, Hungary and Slovakia, voted against it. As of March, Georgian diplomats will lose the right to enter EU countries without a visa.
The visa-free regime between Georgia and the EU has been in place since March 2017. Last year, more than 10 EU countries removed the visa-free regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic and service passports.
