6 Arrested: Investigative Committee on Vagharchapat Incidents
Seven individuals associated with the "Victory" alliance have been subjected to public criminal prosecution for obstructing electoral rights. This information was reported to Auroranews.am by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
"Six individuals have been arrested, and measures are being taken to present them to the court for custody," the agency reported.
Earlier, the leader of the Vagharchapat City Council’s "Victory" faction, Sevak Khachatryan, made a post on the social media platform Facebook, indicating that repressive actions have begun against various individuals with opposing views. He noted that five people had been arrested and searches were underway. Later, during a press conference, he stated that more than ten individuals had already been arrested.
The Investigative Committee had previously announced that factual data had been obtained indicating that on November 16, 2025, during local self-government elections in Vagharchapat, members of the "Victory" alliance, S.D., N.O., and supporters A.A. and M.M. had directed several individuals to vote in favor of the alliance, thereby obstructing the free exercise of personal electoral rights.
A procedure has been initiated under the second part of Article 210, point 6 of the Criminal Code.
The Investigative Committee also reported that searches had been conducted in the homes and adjacent auxiliary structures of the arrested individuals, resulting in the discovery of documents relevant to the criminal proceedings.
