US Military Aircraft Arrive in Yerevan and Baku
In early February, at least 20 military transport aircraft belonging to the US Air Force arrived in Armenia and Azerbaijan. This information is reported by the FlightRadar platform, referencing flight monitoring data.
According to press reports, most of the flights occurred between February 4 and 8. Observations indicated that during this period, 12 military transport aircraft arrived in Armenia, while another nine flew to Azerbaijan. The flights were registered on the eve of US Vice President Jay D. Vence's expected visits to Yerevan and Baku from February 9 to 11.
Nearly all flights were carried out using Boeing C-17A Globemaster III heavy military transport aircraft, which are designed for transporting large cargo loads and have a capacity of up to 77.5 tons. Additionally, specialized transport flights were conducted to Yerevan and Baku using Lockheed Martin MC-130J Commando II aircraft, utilized by US Air Force special operations units. Two more flights of the same type were recorded to Georgia.
