We Have a Reduction in Exports and Imports: Papoyan
In the previous year, the economic activity index was 8.3%, while in 2025 it reached 9.1%. This was stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, during a year-end summary press conference.
The figures across all sectors of the economy have increased: services by more than 10%, trade by 3%, agriculture by approximately 6%, construction by more than 20%, industry by 4.7%, and manufacturing by 3.3%.
“We have a reduction in exports and imports, which is due to a decrease in the re-export of simple gold, as well as certain other products that have seen a decline due to the tightening of sanction mechanisms. You know that the government of Armenia closely monitors any decision made by the EU or the USA against Russia regarding any particular product; we immediately take this into account and make the corresponding decision. Therefore, what has gone through Armenia in 2023-2024 has not been allowed in 2025 because we are working closely with our European partners on this matter, which is why there has been a reduction in re-exports in certain directions,” he said.
