Strengthening Ties with Western Countries Presents Challenges for Armenian-Russian Relations: Kopirkin
Strengthening ties with Western countries presents challenges for Armenian-Russian relations. This statement was made by the Russian ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin.
This development is occurring against the backdrop of the European Union's hostile stance towards Russia, as stated by Kopirkin on the Russian state television channel, Rossiia-24.
As is known, Armenia is currently pursuing a broad diversification of its foreign policy connections, and a significant aspect of this policy is the rapprochement with Western countries, the European Union, and the United States.
We recognize that the EU is presently conducting a hostile policy towards the Russian Federation and is actively signaling its partners that they should support this policy, including through sanctions.
Of course, this creates new challenges for our relations and requires a very sensible, wise, and balanced approach from both sides, as well as strategic foresight.
Kopirkin also noted that the tectonic changes occurring globally cannot fail to impact the South Caucasus region.
