Moscow Finds It Strange to Hear About Alleged Threats to Armenia from the North, Lavrov Says

Moscow finds it strange to hear about some mythical threats directed at Armenia from the north, stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“It is a little strange for us to hear regular statements about some mythical attacks being prepared against Armenia from the north, about the existential threats posed by the CSTO, and in this context, I would also mention attempts to question our shared history,” Lavrov said during a meeting with the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan.

“You are starting a campaign to prepare for parliamentary elections. I can assure you that when signals are heard from abroad that someone is preparing to intervene—specifically referencing the Russian Federation—and when there are calls from Yerevan to the EU to ‘help us prevent such intervention,’ this is strange for us,” the minister added.
