Alen Simonyan Meets with Valentina Matviyenko in Moscow: Details
During an official visit to Moscow on February 5, the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, met with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko.
In the course of the meeting, the participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the bilateral agenda, focusing on political, economic, educational, and cultural matters, with particular attention given to the development of interparliamentary cooperation. Both sides emphasized that parliamentary ties play a crucial role in strengthening the relations between Armenia and Russia.
The conversation also touched upon changes to the migration regulations in Russian legislation affecting foreign citizens. Special attention was given to the problems faced by Armenian drivers engaged in cargo transportation to Russia and the steps being taken to address these issues.
Additionally, the parties discussed the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, along with other regionally significant matters. At the conclusion of the meeting, Alen Simonyan and Valentina Matviyenko answered questions from journalists.
