Russian Military Base and Border Guards are Key Elements of Armenia's Security: Lavrov

Russia remains committed to its international obligations toward its partners in all circumstances. This was stated by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to a question regarding whether Moscow is leaving its traditional allies, including Armenia, Syria, Venezuela, and Iran, to the goodwill of the United States.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union provides real and material benefits. It was noted that all issues arising within the framework of cooperation are resolved based on mutual respect, without the influence of political conjuncture.

At the same time, it was stressed that Armenia continues to be a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization with all the rights and responsibilities that arise from it. Moscow supports Yerevan's full participation in the CSTO, viewing it as an inseparable component of the country's security.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also paid special attention to the role of Russian military presence in the region. "The Russian military base and our border guards are key elements of the security of Armenia and the entire South Caucasus," the statement said.
