Turkey and Egypt Sign Eight Cooperation Agreements

The meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi took place in Cairo, where the two sides discussed the possibilities for expanding bilateral cooperation. During the talks, attention was given to deepening cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, defense, transportation, and energy.

The parties aim to increase the volume of bilateral trade to 15 billion USD in the near future. As a result of the meeting, Turkey and Egypt signed eight documents. Among them is a framework agreement on military cooperation between the governments of the two countries, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the ministries of trade and investment.

The parties emphasized that the signed documents are an important step towards the development of Turkish-Egyptian relations and strengthening regional cooperation.
