In response to media inquiries, it has been reported that following the publication of a video by a journalist on February 3, a study was initiated in the office of the Human Rights Defender, Anahit Manasyan.
A letter was sent to the Prosecutor General's Office on the same day with the aim of initiating criminal proceedings and providing a legal assessment of the individual's actions. Earlier, it was reported that regarding the video circulating online involving a police officer, there is an ongoing internal investigation in the Ministry of Internal Affairs' internal security and anti-corruption department. The authority of the officer seen in the video has been suspended. A report has been filed concerning the apparent crime, stated Narik Sargsyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on his Facebook page.
