Two Russian Citizens Considered Suspects in the Murder of Aishat Baymurodova, Investigative Committee Provides Details
The Armenian Investigative Committee has responded to a query from the Russian service of the BBC, officially confirming that two Russian citizens, Karina Iminova and Said-Khamzat Baysarov, are considered suspects in the murder of 23-year-old Aishat Baymurodova, who fled Chechnya to Armenia.
In December, the Armenian Investigative Committee approached its Russian counterparts requesting assistance with the investigation, but has yet to receive a response. On December 1, Armenian investigators sent a request to Interpol asking for help in obtaining information regarding Iminova and Baysarov.
The investigators have confirmed that Iminova and Baysarov left the apartment where Baymurodova's body was discovered on the day of the murder. The Armenian side claims the suspects acted under the direction of a "yet-to-be-identified person." According to preliminary investigations, the cause of Aishat Baymurodova's death was determined to be mechanical asphyxiation. Additionally, the deceased's body exhibited "minor and major bruises resulting from blunt force trauma."
