Putin Fears Trump, Says Zelensky

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is afraid of former U.S. President Donald Trump, while he does not fear European leaders. Zelensky made these remarks in an interview with France 2.

Zelensky emphasized that Trump understands he has real leverage over Russia through economic means, sanctions, and the powers of the U.S. presidency. He stated, “It is Putin who is afraid of Trump, not the other way around. If Trump realizes that Putin fears him, then he cannot accept all the conditions proposed by the Russian president.”

When asked by the journalist whether this means that Putin does not fear European leaders, Zelensky responded in the affirmative.
