EU to Cover Ukraine's Loan Interest Amounting to €90 Billion
The EU will take on the responsibility for servicing the €90 billion loan granted to Kyiv, covering the interest payments from the EU budget. The Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia will not be affected, according to a statement from the European Union Council.
“This secures the sustainability of Ukraine's public debt, and the interest payments will be covered by the EU budget. This will not impact the budgetary investments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia, which have opted not to participate in the enhanced cooperation agreement,” the document states.
