Elections to Take Place at the CP Office: 'Hayrpar' Newspaper
'Hayrpar' newspaper reports that on February 12, the pre-election polls of the ruling Civil Contract (CP) party will commence, to take place over a three-day period. Members of CP's regional structures from all provinces and Yerevan, as well as delegates to the CP convention, will conduct sequential voting to form the CP electoral list.
The elections will be held at the CP central office. Delegates will come to the office one by one and select from 280 candidates nominated and registered by the CP Board, ultimately voting for 50 candidates. The list will then be compiled in a rating order based on the votes collected, with those who gather the most votes positioned at the top of the list.
After summarizing the results of the three-day voting, another date will be designated for a subsequent selection among the top 50 candidates, as well as for selecting a prime ministerial nominee. Following this, a convention will be called in March to confirm the list chosen by the convention participants. Everyone in the CP is holding their breath in anticipation of February 12-15, as even those closest to Prime Minister Pashinyan have not been guaranteed their positions; all have been advised to look out for themselves.
