At Least 35 People Dead in Japan Due to Heavy Snow and Freezing Temperatures

At least 35 people have died in Japan due to heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures that have persisted for weeks. Nearly 400 people have been injured, with 126 in serious condition.

According to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, most deaths and injuries occurred while people were trying to clear the snow around their homes. A total of 15 prefectures have been affected, with snow depths reaching up to two meters in some areas.

The authorities in the Asian country are warning the public that worse weather conditions are still expected.
