Europe Should Have Direct Communication Channel with Russia, Says French Foreign Minister
European countries that are currently the main financial and military donors to Ukraine should establish their own direct communication channel with Russia. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barbier in an interview with the Liberation newspaper.
The French foreign minister emphasized that such an approach is necessary for European countries to defend their own interests without shifting responsibility onto other powers. According to him, Europe, given the extensive support provided to Ukraine, must also engage independently in diplomatic processes.
“Europeans, who are today the main financial and military backers of Ukraine, must have a communication channel to protect their interests, without transferring responsibility to anyone else,” stated Barbier.
