Blizzard, Black Ice, Fog: Roads Closed

The Rescue Service reports that the roads in the territory of Armenia are mostly passable. However, the roads leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for vehicles with trailers due to a blizzard. Blowing snow is also reported on the Jamslu-Tsiltkar and Kuchak-Aparan highways.

There are spots of black ice on the roads in Shirak and Ararat regions. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to heavy vehicles.
