Danone's Baby Formula Recalled Due to Toxic Substance
The Food Safety Inspection Body will investigate baby formulas from the "Danone" company. Anush Harutyunyan, head of the Awareness, Consultation, and Public Engagement Department at the State Inspectorate for Food Safety (SATE), stated this in an interview with Auroranews.am.
According to Bloomberg, a number of European countries are recalling the French Danone company's infant formula due to the presence of a toxic substance called "cerulide." In response to Auroranews.am's question about what investigation the inspection body is conducting to clarify this issue in Armenia, Anush Harutyunyan replied, "The SATE has viewed the publication as an alert and has taken steps to address it," adding that the inspection body promised to provide updates on the findings in the near future.
Additionally, the Netherlands and neighboring Turkey have recalled "Danone" Aptamil formulas due to the presence of the toxic substance.
