The Investigative Committee Comments on the Choice of Prohibition of Absence as a Restrictive Measure for Bishops

During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated for non-compliance with a judicial act, public criminal prosecution has been brought against seven individuals (Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Bishop Hovnan Hakobyan, Bishop Makar Hakobyan, Bishop Mushegh Babayan, Archbishop Haikazun Najaryan, Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan, Father Movses Sahakyan) under the second part of Article 507 of the Criminal Code (failure to comply with a judicial act or obstructing its execution, which has been carried out using official authority or influence). This was reported to the media by the Investigative Committee. A prohibition of absence has been chosen as a restrictive measure against them.
