Azerbaijan Will Not Allow Its Airspace to Be Used for Military Operations Against Iran: Bayramov
On January 29, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.
During the conversation, the situation surrounding Iran was discussed. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the recent increase in tensions in the region is concerning and emphasized that Azerbaijan has always defended the need for all parties to refrain from actions and rhetoric that could create instability in Iran and its surroundings.
It was highlighted that existing problems should be resolved exclusively in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, through dialogue and diplomacy. Particularly, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan will never allow its airspace or land to be used for military operations against neighboring Iran or any other country.
During the phone call, thoughts were also exchanged on bilateral and other regional issues of mutual interest.
