Arman Tsarukyan Reveals Possible Next Opponent
The top contender in the UFC lightweight rankings, Arman Tsarukyan, competing under the Armenian flag, has discussed his championship prospects. In an interview with Paramount, he commented on the current situation and potential developments.
"I want to fight Justin because he holds the interim title. I'm ready to face Gaethje, for example, in April or June, if Topuria is not ready. If Ilia returns, I will have to wait. However, there's a possibility that my next opponent will be Gaethje, and we will fight for the full title, while Topuria moves up to welterweight to fight for a title there. I don’t know, this is my assumption," stated Tsarukyan.
Arman Tsarukyan last entered the octagon in November 2025 during the UFC Fight Night 265, where he secured a victory over Dan Hooker via submission in the second round. His record stands at 23 wins and 3 losses. Justin Gaethje holds a record of 27 wins and 5 losses.
It is worth noting that at UFC 324, held on January 25 in Las Vegas, Justin Gaethje won unanimously against Paddy Pimblett, claiming the interim lightweight champion title. According to initial plans, Gaethje's next opponent was supposed to be the division's reigning champion Ilia Topuria.
