Arman Tsarukyan Addresses Talks of Fear Regarding Islam Makhachev

The top contender in the UFC lightweight division, Arman Tsarukyan, has denied reports suggesting that he was afraid to face Russian fighter Islam Makhachev in a bout. It was later revealed that Tsarukyan pulled out of the rematch at the last minute due to a herniated disc in his lower back.

“How could I be afraid of Islam when I fought him for the first time at 22 years old? By that time, Makhachev already had 6 or 7 fights in the UFC. The fight was offered to me 2-3 weeks before the tournament, and I agreed,” Tsarukyan stated.

He further emphasized that it is impossible to talk about fear, especially since he had been preparing for this rematch for six years. “Regardless of the outcome, I would have showcased a good fight, earned money, and increased my recognition,” Tsarukyan said, as reported by Sportskeeda.

It is noted that Arman Tsarukyan has participated in 26 MMA fights, achieving victory in 23 of them.
