Roads Temporarily Closed Due to Heavy Snowfall
As of 9:00 AM, all interstate and republican significant roads are open. This was reported by the Road Department. Due to adverse weather conditions, heavy snowfall, lack of visibility, and traffic safety considerations, roads may be closed intermittently.
Organizations responsible for road maintenance continue to carry out clearing and salting operations on the roads. Due to heavy snow, poor visibility, and safety concerns, the roads from Noravan intersection to Shinhayr intersection and towards Goris, Tatev highway, and the Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev road section are closed for all types of vehicles. The Ttsujur-Navur highway is closed for all types of vehicles.
The roads from Jermuk intersection to Kapan are closed for vehicles with trailers. The Vardenyats pass is passable for vehicles with trailers only with snow chains. There is snow on the roads in the Chambarak pass, from the Sevan peninsula to the beginning of the Dilijan tunnel, and in the Aragats region. In the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Dilijan, Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris, Ashotq, and Amasia, there are areas of black ice on the roads.
Drivers are urged to be cautious, strictly adhere to traffic rules, and use winter tires exclusively.
