Former Head of the State Revenue Committee Released on 300 Million AMD Bail

The former head of the State Revenue Committee, Vardan Harutyunyan, who was under house arrest, has been released on a 300 million AMD bail. The measure chosen for him includes administrative supervision and a prohibition on leaving the country. This was reported to InfoPort.am by Harutyunyan's legal team.

Vardan Harutyunyan was detained on August 8, 2025, and in October, his detention was extended for one month. On November 7, it became known that he had been transferred from prison to his home and was under house arrest. Consequently, he has now been released from house arrest as well.

It is important to note that Vardan Harutyunyan is accused of unlawfully participating in entrepreneurial activities, anti-competitive practices, and money laundering, while investigations based on these allegations were conducted seven years ago and were dismissed. Specifically, the criminal case relates to "Norfolk Consulting" company, but an investigation regarding this company was carried out in 2018, and the proceedings were terminated.

Harutyunyan's defense team has stated that a complaint regarding the manifestly disproportionate and unlawful application of his detention has been prepared and is set to be submitted to the European Court of Human Rights shortly.
