The Acting Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Switzerland Has Been Released from His Position
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, by his pastoral decree, has relieved the Most Reverend T. Partev Bishop Barseshyan of his duties as the Primate of the Gegharkunik Diocese, appointing him as the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Switzerland.
The acting primate of the Armenian Diocese of Switzerland, the Very Reverend T. Gusane Supreme Archimandrite Aljanyan, has been released from his position by a separate pastoral decree. Furthermore, by another decree, the spiritual overseer of correctional institutions, the Very Reverend T. Isahak Father Poghosyan, has been appointed as the acting primate of the Gegharkunik Diocese in conjunction with his current duties.
It should be noted that on January 6, Father Gusane Aljanyan joined ten bishops and archbishops who opposed Garegin II and announced his support for the establishment of the coordinating council, accepting the content of the declaration and the roadmap.
