Award Granted to Honor Peace Efforts Between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Nazeli Baghdasaryan
Today, it was announced that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been awarded the 'Zayed' Prize for Human Fraternity for 2026, which recognizes the consistent and principled commitment to advancing the peace agenda at an international level. This was reported by the Prime Minister's spokesperson, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, on her Facebook page.
'The award has been granted in recognition of the ongoing efforts towards establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as a part of the dialogue, strengthening trust, and forming sustainable and lasting peace in the region. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has also received the same prize, highlighting once again that the path to peace requires joint work.
The 'Zayed' Prize for Human Fraternity is awarded to leaders and initiatives that make significant contributions to dialogue, mutual understanding, and the reinforcement of peaceful coexistence among peoples. In previous years, the prize has been awarded to, among others, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the late Pope Francis, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, activist Latifa Ibn Ziaten, as well as the King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,' she wrote.
