Trump Awarded Nobel Peace Prize

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has informed reporters that she presented the Nobel Peace Prize medal to U.S. President Donald Trump during a private meeting at the White House yesterday. Fox News, citing White House officials, reported that the American leader accepted the award.

"I believe today is a historic day for us Venezuelans," said Machado after her first personal meeting with Trump. Following the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by U.S. special forces in Caracas, Trump had declined to support Machado as the new leader of the country, despite her movement securing victory in the 2024 elections. Instead, he is working with the current president, Delsi Rodriguez, who was Maduro's vice president.
