There Is No Prejudiced or Fostering Attitude Towards Me, Says Former Mayor of Ejmiatsin

I can say that in any case, there is no prejudiced or otherwise positive fostering attitude towards me: Why there has been no detention should be answered by the preliminary investigation body. This was stated by the former mayor of Ejmiatsin, Diana Gasparyan, in an interview with reporters, in response to a question about why she remains free while similar cases have led to immediate detentions of opposition political figures.

“Today is the first preliminary court session. There will be a press conference, and I will invite you all; at that time, I will answer all questions,” she noted.

It should be noted that the first court session regarding the former mayor of Ejmiatsin, Diana Gasparyan, is currently underway. She faces charges of abuse of official position and money laundering.

The criminal case was initiated based on a publication by Hetq on December 5, 2023, titled “Diana Gasparyan’s Mother-in-Law Has Started Illegal Construction in Ejmiatsin.”
