Armenia Has Never Taken Any Steps Against Friendly Iran, Simonian

“Armenia has never taken any steps and will not take any against the friendly people and state of Iran, and will not be involved in such processes.” This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, during a press briefing with journalists, addressing the comments made by Iran's Ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Sharghi, who noted that there is a growing perception in Tehran that Armenia is becoming a center for hostile activities against Iran.

The Iranian ambassador expressed concern over recent protests held by a group of individuals in front of the Iranian embassy in Armenia.

Khalil Sharghi also expressed worry that the United States may use TRIPP as part of its security policy. In response to this, Alen Simonian mentioned today, “As for TRIPP, it will also create significant economic opportunities for all countries in the region, including Iran. Regarding concerns, I believe that after the resolution of the existing tensions in Iran, they will clearly see that such a thing does not exist.”
