Alen Simonyan on Fidan's Statement

Alen Simonyan on Fidan's Statement

"Such a thing has not been said, to remain outside of regional developments, to be involved in the region, and hybrid warfare are different things. The fact that we are working with our partners in the region and making good statements regarding Turkey, Iran, and Georgia—would this also be considered interference in their country?" stated the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a press briefing, addressing the statements made by the Turkish Foreign Minister.

“Propaganda representatives are making statements related to inciting various processes in Armenia and are interfering, working directly with political forces,” he noted.

Simonyan then asked the journalist to read the Turkish Foreign Minister’s statement that had sparked discussions. After reading it, he expressed his opinion that the minister literally stated that the public supports the process being promoted by the current government, and that there is no mention of personal support from the minister in that statement.

“You misinterpreted Fidan. This is the quality of your media's interpretation. This is the quality with which you are attempting to manipulate,” he said.

Alen Simonyan noted that they could also present his gratitude: “I thank the Turkish Foreign Minister and all those regional partners who support the majority of the public of the Republic of Armenia's calls for peace and trade.”

Let us recall that yesterday, Fidan announced that elections would be held in Armenia in early June; Pashinyan is currently leading in the polls, and we support his constructive role in this process.
